Abstrak

Strategy is a series of ways and actions to achieve the goals and mission of an institution. The term strategy originally came from the world of military (war), but in its development the term strategy can be used in all types of organizations including educational institutions. Education is always changing, including Islamic education. This change in the character and form of education is a sign of educational transformation. Transformative Islamic education is defined as Islamic education that accesses change with consideration of the prophetic principles of liberalization, humanization and transcendence. Changes in education that are dynamic in nature require a strategy in responding to it, so that an educational institution is able to survive in the midst of competition, even being able to become a superior institution. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of case study. The research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Tulungagung and the research results obtained showed that the selection of strategies was carried out by analyzing all the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that the institution has through a SWOT analysis. The results of the SWOT analysis are then used as a reference in determining strategies that are appropriate to the conditions of the madrasa. Choosing the right strategy will make an educational institution superior.
